July of this last summer, Mike and Pat rounded out a three-week European tour, making stops at a number of top European Trade shows and giving the continent a good run for its money. Making the Bright Trade Show happen was pure craziness. Having just finished up at the Outerspace Show in Barcelona, the two headed for the airport circa 3am after a late night of partying in order to catch their flight to Frankfurt, only to find that the airport labeled “Barcelona” on their itinerary was actually 1.5 hours away. So it went like this: 1.5 hour train to the right airport, flight to Germany but the wrong airport again, 1.5 hour bus ride to Frankfurt, trolley to the hotel, crazy-quick cat nap, trolley to the show for set-up… only to find that the show was in an old jail and that their “booth” was actually a completely barren old office. Luckily with the help of their friends from Sneakers Mag the two were able to turn the office into a showroom using only fishing-line and wire. The show turned out to be a success and Akomplice made a lot of great connections. Shooting you a time-warp to let you know what we’ve been up to over the past year at various times. Busy, busy and still lots of past stories to recount: Japan, Europe, the islands… Stay tuned. Check out more from Bright after the jump.

Our boy Carlton Cat caught up with Ozomatli on their recent stop through A-town and kicked it with Wil-Dog, the nicest bassist ever. Cultural ambassadors to the UN repping the Akomplice movement! These dudes really know how to go out with a bang, ending the night with an in-the-audience crowd banger, followed by a congo-train straight out the door! That’s what’s good!

Most people think L.A. means nothing more than convoluted highways and blonde chicks that talk like Alicia Silverstone. Well… recently Akomplice extended it’s workplace to include a small spot in the city of Angels, we now operate from CO and CA. After spending some time in L.A. heres a few of our observations.
1.) A great mix of all cultures all piled into one city.
2.) A beach that gives you a rash if you go swimming.
3.) A great supply of people living their dreams, or pushing their passion.
4.) Women, women, women.
5.) Cars are king, I personally know more than three people who push ILL whips, but live with their moms. We all know that a nice car usually represents wealth and success as well as a personally lifestyle… in L.A. this concept is on steroids. Nice whip = me playin with nice tits… haha, on the real though I really don’t fall into this materialistic illusion of happiness.
6.) Dope events every night of the week, always something interesting happening.
7.) Watch out for the douche bags of Hollywood, you know the type loud a s motor bike but couldn’t crush a grape in food fight.
8.) Movie stars, porn stars, TV stars, and a lot of people who say they’re a star.
We’re really enjoying our time in LA. I couldn’t believe that a 15 minute drive could put me into the natural world of the above photos. Peep back for more L.A. features in the future.

As a kid I always imagined how good I could look if I had a movie star hair cut. I mean, a dude that would look at my nose and facial features and mold my hair to my face! Boohya! But how would I ever get the same hair stylist as Adrien Brody being a young chap from Colorado? I guess I was stuck with my mom giving me crooked bowl cuts in the living room of our house to save a buck, yeah you heard me right… BOWL CUTS. Well now, 10 years later it’s my lucky day at last. I met Eric Sebbag, a hair cutting genius, who does the likes of: Adrien Brody, Jessica Alba, Naomia Campbell, Briget Fonda, Lil Kim, and Vince From Entourage… to name a few. Our acquaintance was found at an intimate gathering of Austin Martin driving movie peeps in a Malibu Penthouse about a week and a half ago. We’re doin our thing. Make sure to check out the crazy “Before & After” shots of Mike’s haircut, After the jump.
