Interview by Ruby Hornet
I did RubyHornet’s first interview with the clothing brand Akomplice almost two years ago. The brand was born in Colorado, the brain child of The Liberty brothers, who started Akomplice because they wanted to do more than “just rock a logo.” Since the brand’s inception their clothing, and most famously their tees, have sported iconic figures immersed in political and social commentary. Their most popular design to this day remains their tee depicting Lady Liberty holding a shotgun, instead of the torch which she bears from her post in New York where she stands as a beacon of hope, freedom, and capitalism for the world to see… Read the rest of the interview at RubyHornet.com.

Today we present our Spring 2011 V.S.O.P collection. This collection refines Akomplice’s vision for producing designs that withstand the dribble of sand in the hourglass. Akomplice V.S.O.P is inspired by the thrill of natural beauty and the unexplored bounds of our imagination. The below collection is available now worldwide and at our online store.
The Best Game Ever
Playoff game four, Portland Trail Blazers Vs. The Dallas Mavericks, start time: 2:00pm, location: Portland Oregon. Lets’s start the story at 1:50 pm earlier today. At my girls apartment grabbing her only purple bike, in a hurry to make our best attempt at finding a scalper with a pair of tickets. Anny on the handle bars, me peddling as fast as the beat of a Euro techno record. Pull up to the stadium 10 minutes after tip off to find a group of very sweaty and desperate scalpers. Before I can specify what I’m looking for I’m surrounded by three vicious ticket launderers, each barking a lower price then the pervious. I didn’t have to say shit, they did all the bargaining for me. The price started at $120 for a pair, by the end they were begging me to take the set for $40, sold! Grabbed Anny and we were off. The seats weren’t court side but still kinda dope. I’m now at a Portland Blazers playoff game. After we get settled, we watch nearly three quarters, Blazers are down over 20 points and the game is almost over, Fuck, I turn to Anny and she knew exactly what I was thinking, time to upgrade to front and center. We scoped two empty seats, center court, row 11. Quickly cruise down, walk right past the ticket checker, and get these beautiful seats, and guess what… VOILA!! The Blazers start not only sinking every shot but rebounding, stealing, blocking, and every other thing you need to do for a 20 point comeback in the final countdown. Don’t get me wrong I’m a Nuggets fan till death, but, it’s dope to see Portland do work. Check more photos here. Peep the video clip I filmed for the full experience, so fresh! -Mike
