Akomplice Bio

Akomplice has humble roots in the mountains of Colorado. Started by two brothers Mike and Patrick at the tender ages of 18 and 20. Hailing from Colorado, without any industry-specific education, the two brothers embarked on their first collection with nine of their initial thirteen illustrator designs. Fast-forward eight years, and Akomplice is a pillar within the street-wear industry while preserving the curiosity and passion from day one. Akomplice boasts collaborations with iconic figures and media outlets including the Wu-Tang Clan, MF Doom, Sneaker Freaker, Frank 151, and Vernon Davis. Mike and Patrick have also been commissioned for design by Nike’s lifestyle arm, Nike Sportswear on multiple occasions.

Akomplice is currently sold in 18 countries, and carried in over 200 stores across the globe. Akomplice has also enjoyed tenured success selling to Los Angeles institution, Conveyor at Fred Segal for over five years. Mike and Patrick have created an industry indispensable with Akomplice through thought provoking graphics, and calculated material choices that gain sophistication with each season. Though they’ve enjoyed swift and strategic growth, Mike and Patrick have maintained the ethos of “evolution through innovation” which is apparent within each collaboration, and garment produced.

Press Release

Photography, Porn and Fashion. We're Celebrating "50 Years of the Lazy Hustler" with the fabled NYC photographer Ricky Powell. For those unfamiliar, Ricky is a native New Yorker who has been working the music, art and fashion scene from both sides of the lens for the better part of 30 years, and has shot everyone from Andy Warhol to The Beastie Boys. Ricky has dubbed himself the Akomplice "poster child" so we found it befitting to tap him for the release of our latest headwear collection.

The collection is comprised of pom beanies in black and red as well as a trio of snap backs in hunter green, maroon and navy. Each hat features our logo alongside Ricky's signature and the number 50 illuminating the inclusion of this collection within Ricky's 50th anniversary. More than a collection of hats, this is a collaborative effort which will reverberate with New Yorkers. For the collection we made use of the iconic New York Times typeface and added our own street savvy spin. In line with Ricky's artistic appetite, we enlisted a threesome of topless models who were more than willing to bare their bodies for Ricky's lens. Along with the digital look book, a curated collection of physical prints will be on display at our flagship Saturday, November 17th with Ricky Powell in attendance. We will be offering a pre-release of the hats the night of the event. The hats will be available at fine Akomplice retailers worldwide on November 26th.
