The BlackSheep Crew

September 6th, 2011

This is a Time Warp.  Let’s jump back to 4/20/11 when I landed in Charlotte.  I had never met any of the BlackSheep crew in person.  For anyone who doesn’t know BlackSheep, they are a long time Akomplice retailer who we’ve collaborated with in the past.  Oh yeah, and they run Charlotte, no joke.  So after four years of business I figured it was time to stop in for a visit.  What I experienced was the idea and definition of a skate family.  This clique is tight, you see BlackSheep shirts all over any skate spot, and the whole city follows their movement.

Big shouts to Akomplice’s long time team rider Diego Troya. He graced the entrance of our website for a long time with that ill pool photo.  Another big shout to Markie Clements who just joined the AK family and is one of the gnarliest rippers I have seen.   We can’t leave out the homie Brandon, who is like the team manager of this clique.  Much love to the rest of the BlackSheep family and of course Josh, the owner, who started this movement and continues to make it grow.  Go to spawnsofgnar.com to see the crew’s skate videos/photos, and go to blacksheepnc.com. Check out more pics of the store and crew after the jump.

David Flores | Blake Peterson

September 1st, 2011

For the past 24 hours David’s been staying in Santa Barbara at Patrick and I’s spot. Orchestrated by Patrick and executed by Blake and David, this series is dope! It’s been really great to watch and see Blake, David, and Patrick make this project come to fruition. Tonight marks the release of not only the Akomplice X David Flores mini series but also the David Flores X Blake Peterson collaboration art series. The collection of pieces will be available for viewing at the Akomplice Flagship starting tonight (sept. 1st) at 8pm. The collaboration works will showcase a fusion of multiple elements, combining three very distinct styles. Nine new pieces will be showcased tonight. For a full list of tonight’s party info see our previous post. Peep more photos.
