Patrick, Celeste, and some chick and a pilot and me on a small plane kinda close to the Bermuda triangle, shit was kinda tense for me, but also amazing. We’re about to get into Trinidad/ Tobago to meet with Eric co-owner of Backside and Eight X Ten magazine. Eric and I always take at least one inspiration trip together a year .

Virgin Islands: Jost Van Dyke + St. Croix
When I travel it helps me design. New influences pull you out of habit and ritual, opening your mind for new ideas, different creative processes. Many don’t know this but Patrick and I work from everywhere, we started Akomplice in the middle of the woods.

This reminds me of Eric’s car.

Apparently this tree was imported to St. Croix from Africa a few hundred years ago, people used to host rituals around the trunk.
On The Street: Santa Barbara
This is one of my favorite pieces from the last year. The piece was thrown up in Santa Barbara, which is one of AK’s bases, I’m not gonna mention if I know who did it. It was a dope exhibit featuring fake money trails all over the sourounding Santa Barbara area, the money was real in size/ color and was glued to the street, if you followed one of the trails you would ultimitely end up at the spot shown below. Big up to the crew who did this. Also check the $=Happiness? tee, which inspired it all.

X-Large Adventure
Last month I got an e-mail from my friend Yusuke Yamada, a super cool cat in charge of X-Large press at B’s International who I met in Tokyo back in 2009. He was coming to LA to shoot the X-Large Spring look book and asked if I would model for it. Of course I jumped at the bit and cruised down to the X-Large store on Tuesday to meet up with the X-Large crew for the shoot. Little did I know they day would bring more than I could have hoped for. See what transpired after the JUMP.
