100% of all profits will be donated directly to the Japanese Relief Fund.<\/div>\n

We have created a t-shirt & Good Wood a necklace, both items will donate 100% of all profits directly to the Iwate Prefecture’s relief fund in Japan. This collaboration will be available to everyone this Friday (April 15th) at 9am PST.<\/p>\n

The t-shirt will be sold individually in red, black, and white color-ways for $26.00. The Good Wood necklace will also be available separately in a pale wood color-way for $35.00.<\/p>\n

There is also a Japan Pack for $49.00, the contents include the exclusive color-ways, a navy t-shirt and dark wooden necklace.<\/p>\n

On March 11th, 2011 the world watched in awe as Japan was struck by the largest earthquake in its recorded history and a tsunami that flooded the Tohoku(northeast) region of the main Japanese island of Honshu. 24 hour news networks replayed the carnage and destruction over and over again, CFO of Akomplice, Matt, who lived in Japan for 3 years, was deeply pained by the above destruction.\u00a0Knowing we needed to do something to help, Akomplice created a t-shirt & Good Wood a necklace, both items will donate 100% of all profits directly to the Iwate Prefecture’s relief fund. Iwate Prefecture is in the Tohoku region and was one of the prefectures hit hardest by this earthquake and tsunami. Instead of sending our money to an intermediary fundraiser, we are donating our profits directly into the designated relief fund bank account of the prefecture, so they can appropriate the money to where it is needed most.<\/p>\n

The t-shirt is of the island of Japan and the necklace has a Sun and Crane on one side and the donation information on the other. Japan is historically, “The Land of the Rising Sun” (hence the red sun as their national flag) and in Japanese folklore it is said that folding 1000 origami cranes will make any wish come true. The crane thus symbolizes hope while the sun represents the core of Japan. The back graphic of the t-shirt and wood piece has, “\u9811\u5f35\u308c\u65e5\u672c” (Ganbare Nippon) written on it. Literally translating to, “Fight Japan,” this is a phrase of encouragement that is being used as the national slogan at the moment (in a slightly different conjugation of the verb). “Ganbare” embodies perseverance, determination, strength, solidarity, and endurance; quintessential Japanese character traits, while “Nippon” is Japan in Japanese.<\/p>\n
