I spent the last 3 years living in France and Switzerland enjoying the fine food and women Europe had to offer. My name is Shawn Alexander McCarney, and its time to share a tale or two.<\/p>\n

A week ago I get a message from Pat asking if I know Ricky Powell<\/a>, and less than a week later I find myself sitting on the street at dusk chatting to the legendary photographer himself. Ricky has recently had a tribute issue of \u201cFrank<\/a>\u201d released and wanted to personally sign one for the Akomplice crew. The man loves our New York Crimes hat and literally wears the thing everywhere. We chatted for about an hour in what he called his \u201cmakeshift office\u201d which was a fire hydrant\u00a0 on the corner of 18th<\/sup> street and 6th<\/sup> avenue, where he discovered how uneducated I was in old school hip-hop. \u201cYou\u2019re a nice kid, but you don\u2019t know shit. We\u2019ll have to educate you.\u201d It\u2019s funny because that\u2019s what my brother says to me all the time. Some things never change.<\/p>\n
