Happy Holidays ! We’re proud to announce our latest collaborative creation with sneaker connoisseur and Grammy-nominated recording artist, Wale. Together we created a pair of innovative technical overalls and a ski mask. The project was vibrant with energy and manifested through full bodied creative sessions. The pants were designed in the 24 hours before Wale left for a trip to Paris to meet and record with Kanye. Elevate the possibilities. Wale chose to collaborate with us to create something more than a co-branded t-shirt. Unsatisfied with merely slapping our respective logos on a garment and pushing it out for production, we welcomed the challenge of taking on something unique and technically advanced. The overalls feature a blue, black, and silver color schematic chosen by Wale to represent his Every Blue Moon imprint. The pants tout AQUASEAL waterproof zippers, courtesy of YKK, as well as 3M reflective hits on the knees, ankles, shoulder straps, and calf. During the design process we decided to pay tribute to Wale’s Nigerian ancestry by using a traditional Yoruba pattern on the overall’s straps and across the mask. Like Wale, Akomplice is a proponent of individuality in the arena of fashion. With this collaboration, we stepped out of traditional apparel and produced a pair of innovative statements pieces with the technical prowess for the outdoors.
