Taiwan and Me.

June 24th, 2011

Boarded my flight from Los Angeles to Taiwan at 3:15pm on Monday, the plane landed in Taipei, Taiwan at 8pm Tuesday, 14 hours of flying with a 15 hour time change. I got off the plane and was excited to get my myself into a new world of culture. I was greeted by my girl Anny, and her brother in law Austin. Since then is a blur of duck necks, shining lights, and scooters… Taipei is  the industry leader in computer chips and home of the world’s second largest building. Taiwan specializing in computer technologies basically translates to a well built economy for standards of Asia. The food is some of the most flavorful I’ve ever had, super delicious but beware, if you’re not careful you might end up with pig guts or a duck face, these dudes DO NOT PLAY with their food game. My new favorite game is “Pop The Balloons With a Pistol”. As I sit writing this post Beethoven’s 5th blasts through my apartment’s windows, not because a fan from below is crankin the volume up, but because every garbage truck in Taiwan has a speaker system and by regulation must play Beethoven’s 5th over and over, all day… kinda fly. So for the next 3.5 weeks I’ll be hosting a personal journal of my journey through Asia. My name is Mike, I am the designer/ founder of Akomplice. Kick off your shoes and enjoy. More photos.
