1.5ºC – Researchers warn that the global temperature increase needs to be kept below 1.5 degrees Celsius, otherwise, the survival of humanity and the world’s vital ecosystems will be threatened. The United Nation’s most recent climate report gives humans a 10-year ultimatum to address the earth’s climate crisis. The devastating effects of climate change could be irreversible by 2030. If we do not make changes to our current model of life, we will likely see an increase in widespread flooding, extreme heat, drought, lack of growing conditions for food creating famine, scarcity of clean water, a sea-level rise that could destroy entire cities, excessive poverty, and a refugee crisis which is estimated to affect 1 in 9 people worldwide.
